Our goal for each trek is to not only ensure that all guests safely complete their journey from beginning to end, but also to promote solid relationships between trekkers and porters.  For this reason, we always ensure a 1:1 trekker to porter ratio. This relationship becomes one of the most memorable experiences of the trip and is reminiscent of the wartime bonds that were established during the war between the Australian troops and the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels.

All our expeditions start with a group meeting the evening before the start of the trek at the hotel.  This is where you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow trekkers and for your IKA guide to provide last minute details about the trip.  Please have your insurance documentation available for this meeting if you have not previously submitted your insurance paperwork. On the morning of the second day, we have a short drive to the PNG domestic airport where we will board a small plane that will take us to the start of the trek at Kokoda.
